Our Staff

Heather Glick
Preschool Director

Heather has twelve years experience as a lead teacher in a Reggio-inspired private preschool that specialized in teaching children through a play-based curriculum.  As a teacher, Heather served as a resource to families during their child's early years, helping parents support their child's learning and development while also navigating the world of new and changing technologies.  In addition to in-depth knowledge of the Reggio-Emilia approach, Heather also has experience in designing outdoor playscapes and developing nature-driven curriculum.

As Director of the preschool, Heather works to ensure that the programs and activities offered are developmentally and age-appropriate and reflect what experts in early childhood consider to be best practices.

Heather lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, two teen-aged sons, three cats, two dogs and a very noisy parrot.  She is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, a huge fan of all things Swedish and an incorrigible coffee drinker.  She's always happy to chat with parents (and children).  Stop by the preschool office anytime!

Debbie Howard
Assistant Preschool Director

Debbie comes to Adat Reyim Preschool from Agudas Achim Preschool where she was the Preschool Director for the past three years.  At Agudas, Debbie helped grow and organize the preschool, adding engaging enrichment programs and ensuring that all children had ample time outside!

Debbie favorite age to teach is 3 year olds, but she has taught 2's as well.  She taught for one year at the JCCNV before moving to Agudas when they opened a preschool in 2005.  She taught there until becoming the Director. Debbie grew up in Springfield, VA just a few blocks from Adat Reyim!  She graduated from West Springfield High School before earning degrees in History and Stage Management/Technical Theatre at the University of Rhode Island.  She earned her Masters in Early Childhood Education from George Mason University.  Debbie lives in Fairfax with her husband David and their two children, Seth (8 years old) and Jacob (3 months old).
